Village
Eco-tours
Experience
bush Alaska first hand with Roger and Vera Skogen. Enjoy Vera’s
fine home cooked meals and spend a relaxing evening and true Alaskan
hospitality at their log home lodge with a hot shower or a traditional
steam bath. Take in the village sights and visit with the local
people as you learn about Eskimo life in bush Alaska -- smoking
and drying salmon, ulu making, Native story telling and folk lore.
Learn
about the natural history of beautiful Southwest Alaska while
on a guided float trip down the scenic Nushagak River. Photo opportunities
abound while traveling on the river, fishing and hiking the tundra.
Wildlife that may appear around any bend include caribou, moose,
brown and black bear, beaver, otter, nesting bald eagles, arctic
terns and spawning salmon. Some returning guests say their most
memorable times are a good meal and the friendship shared around
the campfire.
